the downtown alive show was a huge success for us. despite the extreme heat due to the stage being placed on main directly in the sun (and no stage fans), we put on a rock show and made a lot of new friends and sold a lot of merch too. according to the sound man, it was the biggest turn out for downtown alive all year. so...whats next? two weekends off! i dont think weve had two consecutive weekends off since maybe march. i know that we need a break but im fairly certain that come saturday of next week, ill be itching to play and bored out of my mind. ill most likely be using this time to finish up some new songs and trying to book shows for september and beyond. the following weekend, well be playing another outdoors event, this time in spartanburg at the taproom/rj rockers brewery for the "rock on the dock" concert series with asheville's now you see them. these guys have been making quite a stir of lately here in the mountains. the following night well be playing at typsy for kristin johnstons 29th birtday party. linus van pelt from charlotte were originally on the bill but they had to cancel for reasons unknown-to me anyway. both shows are sure to be a blast, so make plans to be out at one or both of them.
